Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable In-Person AP Geology Tutor to deliver high-quality instruction to high school students preparing for AP-level coursework. This role is perfect for educators who have a deep understanding of geology, enjoy working closely with students in one-on-one or small group settings, and can make complex scientific concepts accessible and engaging.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide in-person tutoring in Geology, with a focus on AP-level and advanced high school Earth Science topics.
- Create and adapt personalized lesson plans aligned with students’ learning goals and their school curriculum.
- Clearly explain key concepts such as plate tectonics, rock cycles, earth materials, geological time, seismology, and more.
- Assist students with homework, test preparation, lab reports, and understanding scientific data.
- Foster a supportive and interactive learning environment that builds students' confidence and curiosity about Earth Science.
- Track student progress and adjust instructional strategies to ensure mastery and academic improvement.
- Communicate regularly with students and parents regarding academic progress and goals.
- Stay updated on the AP Geology or Earth Science curriculum and relevant teaching strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Earth Science, Environmental Science, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Strong knowledge of AP or advanced-level Earth Science curriculum.
- Experience in tutoring or teaching Geology or Earth Science at the high school or college level.
- Ability to explain scientific concepts in a clear, relatable, and engaging manner.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for education.
- Availability during evenings and weekends for in-person sessions.
Preferred Skills
- Experience conducting fieldwork or laboratory instruction in geology or environmental science.
- Familiarity with geological tools, models, and maps used in secondary or college-level education.
- Knowledge of standardized testing formats, including AP and SAT Subject Tests (if applicable).
- Strong organizational skills and ability to adapt teaching styles to meet diverse student needs.
