What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Developmental Support Specialist position at Park Assist?
TUESDAY OR FRIDAY PICK UP FROM DAY PROGRAM AT 4:30 PM: Family needs caregiver for 23 yr old son who has a significant developmental delay, nonverbal and nonaggressive autism, and controlled seizure disorder who requires assistance with daily living and recreational activities.
Pick up from day program at 4:30 pm and bring home, taking for a walk in the neighborhood, plating dinner, showering, assist with toileting, dressing, brushing teeth and giving night time medications
OCCASIONAL PART-TIME POSITION,12:00 PM-5:00 PM caregiver needed on days off from Day Program and during Winter, Spring and Summer Breaks. Assisting and encouraging self help skills and daily activities- plating lunch/snack, giving medicines, going for several walks, spending time outdoors, and allowing self play/relaxation.
Experience with special needs preferred
Briefly, our son is happy , easy going and non aggressive. He does not have any physical deformities. He struggles to meet his daily needs such as dressing, meals and toileting (escorting to and from the bathroom). His favorite activities are iPad, music, going for walks, jumping on trampoline and swinging on therapy swing
