240 bed skilled nursing facility is seeking an Infection Control / Staff Education R.N.
Full Time - Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm

Infection Prevention Responsibilities:
- Plans, develops, directs, implements and evaluates infection prevention within the facility
- This position is supervised by the director of nursing and serves to instruct personnel in proper infection control procedure
- Investigates infection control problems and arranges follow-up care for residents exposed to infectious diseases.
- Responsible for Surveillance, tracking and reporting infections, outbreaks, etc.
- Conducts rounds, discussing and monitoring infection control practices with staff;
- Collects infection data from departments, maintaining records for each case;
- Trains staff on implementation of infection control practices;
- Investigates incidents of infection and reports such incidents to the director of nursing; and ensures availability of supplies required for infection control.
Staff Education RN Responsibilities:
- Prepares and conducts orientation for all new staff personnel
- Develops and provides monthly mandatory in-service classes to all levels of staff in the facility
- Prepares and conducts ongoing in-service programs for new Nursing personnel
- Ongoing in-service to staff to new procedures or changes in resident care or resident equipment
- Track to ensure that all staff recieve mandatory inservices
- Provides individual staff development counseling and disciplinary actions to personnel as needed
