SEASONAL POSITION - April 28th - September 25th
$22.10/hour
This is a physically demanding position. Duties include lifting, moving and feeding branches and small logs through wood chipper. The employee may be required to drive a truck pulling the wood chipper. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions, near moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment during the operation of the chipper is high; hearing protection is provided.
Under the direction of the Fire Prevention Bureau; this seasonal, FLSA non-exempt position conducts fuel mitigation services. Primarily performs duties related to vegetative fire fuel reduction; including, but not limited to: chipping wood slash piles, and hauling and delivery of wood chips.

- Operates District vehicle while towing wood-chipping machinery.
- Operates wood-chipping machinery.
- Facilitates maintenance of equipment.
- Maintains a variety of data and records regarding daily activities.
- Other duties, as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Effective oral and written communications skills.
- Must have the ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Must have the ability to establish effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the general public.
- Skill in the operation of the tools and equipment listed.
- Must possess, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid Utah driver's license without record of suspension or revocation in any State.
- No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal histories within the past seven years.
- Must be a citizen of the United States at time of hire, or provide proof of appropriate work permit.
- Must be able to read and write the English language.
- This is a seasonal position, generally requiring up to 40 hours per week. Work hours are typically 8:00 am to 6:00 pm,
- This job runs from April 28 to September 25th. There is a $1/hour bonus paid on every hour worked if employee stays to the end of the season.

Salary : $22
