What are the responsibilities and job description for the VOLUNTEER YOUTH SOCCER COACH position at Park City Municipal Corporation?
Volunteer; unpaid; variable hours
SUMMARY
Volunteer coaches are responsible for organizing and leading youth sports soccer teams.
DUTIES
- Attend the coaches meeting via Zoom. Review important league information & answer any questions.
- Makes initial phone calls/emails to players to introduce themselves as coach. Informs players of team name, practice, and game times/locations. Works with parents to create snack schedule.
- Understands and supports league goals and philosophy and imparts these to parents and players. The goals of the Park City Recreation Spring Youth Soccer League are fun, exercise, making new friends and having new experiences, and enjoying the game of soccer in a positive, sportsmanlike manner.
- Distributes team uniforms and keeps track of team equipment. Coaches are responsible for returning soccer balls and cones to Park City Recreation staff after their team’s last game.
- Organizes and runs practices for team.
- Represents and organizes team on game days. This includes monitoring substitutions and playing time to ensure equal play time for all team members.
- Sets an example for players regarding sportsmanship, fairness and equal play. Agrees to follow Park City Recreation’s “Code of Conduct”.
- Become familiar with league rules and teach them to players. Imparts any knowledge of the sport to players whenever possible.
- Respects and cooperates with referees, other coaches, and Recreation Staff.

Must pass a background check
Availability that matches the needs of the league/team
Ability to act effectively in stressful situations
Works well with children
SCHEDULE
Wednesday April 23rd – June 7th
Pre-k & Kindergarten play Saturdays only
1-2nd & 3-4th play Wednesdays & Saturdays
(NO games Memorial Day weekend Saturday May 24th)
Pre-K & Kindergarten Divisions
- Pre-K is COED
- Kindergarten divisions separated by gender
1-2nd & 3-4th Grade Divisions
- 1-2nd grade divisions separated by gender
- 3-4th grade is COED
