What are the responsibilities and job description for the Onsite Project Manager position at Park Construction Company?
Park Construction Company is seeking a qualified Project Manager (PM) for its Western Division. The position will be based out of the Fargo office, but travel throughout the middle third of the United States is required. The PM will represent the Vice President of the Western Division on-site and manage all aspects of assigned projects, including:
- Reviewing project plans and financial projections to ensure accuracy and feasibility.
- Managing project schedules and coordinating with subcontractors to ensure work is completed correctly and on time.
- Entering and validating data in Park's Field Management System (HCSS Heavy Job).
- Overseeing the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Program (SWPPP) for assigned projects.
- Implementing the company’s Quality Control Program to meet or exceed project specifications.
- Leading the implementation of site-specific safety programs, including:
- Conducting daily and weekly safety meetings.
- Performing safety audits (daily, weekly, and monthly).
- Investigating accidents.
- Conducting new hire safety orientations.
- Estimating project costs and submitting accurate proposals to prospective clients.
- Developing business opportunities by maintaining strong relationships with current clients and pursuing new business prospects.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent.
- Alternatively, at least seven years of construction experience as a Quality Control Manager, foreman, or superintendent, or a combination of education and experience.
Skills
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Proficiency in:
- MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Construction data management software (e.g., HCSS Heavy Job).
- Scheduling software.
- Bidding software (e.g., HCSS Heavy Bid).
- Accounting principles and software (e.g., VISTA).
- Strong knowledge of:
- Construction plans and specifications.
- Stormwater management regulations.
- Quality control principles in the construction industry.
- OSHA construction safety standards.
- Proven abilities to:
- Work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Manage multiple projects with competing demands and meet deadlines.
- Prepare accurate bid proposals.
