General Purpose:
Park County is seeking a dedicated and experienced Public Works Foreman to lead our Public Works team in the maintenance and improvement of county infrastructure. The Public Works Foreman will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of our roads, bridges, parks and public facilities. This position requires a hands-on leader with a strong work ethic, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality public services
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Supervision and Team Leadership:
Lead a team of public works employees, including equipment operators, laborers, and maintenance staff.
Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to team members.
Coordinate work assignments, schedules, and priorities to ensure efficient operations.
* Infrastructure Maintenance:
Oversee the maintenance, repair, and construction of county roads, bridges, drainage systems, and other public infrastructure.
Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs and safety hazards.
Ensure compliance with local and state regulations related to public works projects.
* Equipment and Resource Management:
Manage the inventory of equipment, tools, and materials required for public works projects.
Schedule and coordinate equipment maintenance and repairs.
Optimize resource allocation to complete projects within budget.
This position is responsible for the equipment and materials used during job performance.
The use of Park County vehicles and equipment is provided only for the purpose of performing tasks related to Park County Public Works.
* Project Planning and Execution:
Collaborate with engineers and project managers to plan and execute infrastructure projects.
Monitor project progress, budgets, and timelines.
Ensure that projects are completed safely and within specifications.
* Budget Management:
Assist in the development and management of the department’s annual budget.
Monitor expenses, review cost estimates, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
* Safety and Compliance:
Promote and enforce safety protocols and practices among the team.
Stay up-to-date with environmental and safety regulations.
Investigate and report accidents or incidents promptly.
* Community Engagement:
Interact with the public to address concerns, answer inquiries, and provide information about public works projects.
Attend community meetings and represent the department when necessary.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Performs as a lead worker.
Hours:
- The normal work week is Monday through Thursday 6:00am to 4:30pm. Additional hours may be required to facilitate the emergency and weather operations.

Qualifications
Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent: additional education or certification in a related field is a plus. * Proven experience in public works, construction, or a related field. * Previous supervisory or management experience preferred. * Strong knowledge of construction methods, equipment operation, and safety protocols. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects. * Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. * Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions. * Pass pre-employment alcohol and drug test. * Must pass background check. Certifications: * Must possess a valid State of Colorado CDL B or A Commercial Driver’s license with tanker and air brake endorsements as required.
Special Requirements
Work Environment/Physical Activities: * Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds). * Stamina to work long hours and in adverse weather conditions. * Ability to navigate construction sites and uneven terrain. * The work environment is typical of an office, materials testing laboratory and construction sites. * Personal protection equipment (PPE) will be provided to employees as required
