What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family and Consumer Science Teacher position at Park County School District #1?
Provide instruction in Family & Consumer Science areas such as hospitality, culinary arts, foods, clothing, and Home Economics for students at the high school level. Be an advisor for the extra-curricular SKILLS USA student organization. Other elective classes may also be offered based on student and school needs.
Qualifications:
B.A. or B.S. Degree
Qualified for a Standard Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsements in Family & Consumer Science as issued by the Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board
Demonstrated ability to motivate, work effectively with, and relate to high school students of different age/ability levels and with varying needs
Desire to work with students of high school age, good organizational patterns, and a solid knowledge of the subjects listed
Successful teaching/student teaching experience
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with members of teaching staff, parents, and administration
Team oriented; history of professional growth; demonstrated ability to work effectively with professional team at the secondary level, with parents, and with administration
Knowledge/Experience in Professional Learning Communities (PLC)
Experience and/or training in performance standards/standards-based education and high school concepts/instruction preferred
Salary: District Salary Schedule (2024-2025 Base = $53,000.00)
Employment Term: Full-time – 185-day contract
Beginning Date: 2025-2026 reporting date for new staff – August 14, 2025 (with training before this date)
