School Nurse 1:1

• Monitor and maintain the student’s tracheostomy, including suctioning, cleaning, and changing trach tubes as needed.
• Administer CPR and emergency medical care as necessary.
• Assist with feeding, including tube feedings and oral feeding, as prescribed.
• Provide general care for a student with significant physical impairment, including assistance with mobility, hygiene, and daily activities (repositioning, skin integrity assessments, and transfers).
• Recognize and respond to symptoms of autonomic dysreflexia
• Administer medications as ordered
• Collaborate with the student’s healthcare team and school staff to ensure coordinated care.
• Document care and progress as required, maintaining confidentiality and following HIPAA guidelines.
• Assist the student with participation in classroom activities and other school events, as appropriate.
• Ensure a safe and supportive environment for the student at all times.

Qualifications:

• Must hold or be able to secure a current license to practice as a registered nurse in Wyoming

• Prior experience working with medically fragile children or individuals with significant physical impairment.
• Certification in CPR and First Aid (training specific to tracheostomy and ventilator care is a plus).
• Knowledge of feeding techniques and equipment (e.g., tube feeding, specialized feeding pumps).
• Ability to work effectively within a team, collaborating with educators, healthcare providers, and parents.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

Salary: District Salary RN with Bachelor Degree (2024-2025 base = $53,000); RN with Associates Degree (2024-2025 base = $28.25/hour)
Employment Term: Full-time – 185-day contract (pro-rated for the 2024-2025 school year)
Beginning Date: As soon as mutually agreed upon
