Description
Summary
Under the direction of the Head Tennis Professional, the Pickleball Teaching Professional is responsible for teaching Pickleball lessons and performing assigned administrative duties in a positive manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Include, but not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Teaching Lessons
- Teach private and group lessons as assigned in accordance with Park District policies.
- Effectively communicate and demonstrate proper techniques, such as grip, stroke production, serve, footwork and rules.
- Conduct instruction in accordance with the Club's standardized methods and strategies.
- Perform necessary administrative tasks, such as attendance taking, returning messages, and general correspondence with patrons and co-workers.
- Discretely work through differences with fellow teaching professionals so as not to create distractions on the court or in front of clientele.
- Arrive in time to start lessons punctually and allow enough time to fully complete the lesson and cleanup as scheduled.

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required.
Education and / or Experience
Minimum high school graduate with preference given to a four-year degree from a recognized college or university. Must be certified or able to obtain certification from the Professional Tennis Registry, the United States Professional Tennis Association or other approved agency. Minimum of one-year tennis teaching experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Must be certified or able to obtain within six months of employment : Certification with the Professional
Tennis Registry Professional Level Certification or with the United States Professional Tennis Association Professional 1 Level Certification.
Must also be registered with the United States Professional Tennis Association.
Valid Driver's License
American Red Cross CPR / AED Certification
