Job Description
Park Lake Presbyterian Church Child Care Center offers care and education to approximately 90 children from infancy to VPK. A ministry of Park Lake Presbyterian Church, our nationally accredited Center provides a standard curriculum, hot lunch, snacks, physical enrichment, and extracurricular activities. Our award-winning program is centered around our mission: to enable each and every child in our care to reach their full potential as a child of God.
The Director is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day operations and supporting the students, staff, and teachers to achieve their full potential. This seasoned leader will oversee 19 full-time teachers, five part-time teachers, an Assistant Director/Curriculum Specialist, and a Culinary Specialist. They will have a strong focus on developing our programs and activities to the highest early childhood education standards, promoting meaningful engagement with families from the Church and Center, and maintaining the highest level of accreditations and assessments. The Director is a member of the Church staff, works under supervision of the pastors, reports to the Child Care Center Committee, and is accountable to the Church Session.
Salary is commensurate with experience.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Provide consistent communication to parents and families, develop outreach with the Church community, and program opportunities for engagement throughout the year.
- Supervise the health and safety of the Child Care Center and food program in compliance with federal, state and local regulations and requirements.
- Maintain consistent enrollment levels and ensure our childcare and services are equitable and competitive within the Orlando market.
- Ensure maintenance of records required by inter-agency and inter-governmental services.
- Attend and report monthly to the Child Care Center Committee, prepare and oversee annual budgets with monthly budget status reports, seek Committee guidance, and prepare items needed to be presented to the Church Session for approval.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven leadership experience in a child care program, demonstrating participation in the management of day-to-day operations.
- Proven expertise in Federal, State, and local regulations applicable to Child Care Center licensing and accreditation.
- Demonstrated experience managing the staff of a child care program.
- Experience using and maintaining child care program software such as ProCare as well as tools and technologies to ensure timely communication with parents.
- Experience in managing the processes and procedures of a child care facility including finance, payroll, insurance, facilities, supplies, and equipment.
- American Red Cross CPR and First Aid certification or equivalent is required.
- Have and maintain Director of Child Care Credential and VPK Director Credential.
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience is required.
