What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ambulatory Clinic Nurse - Specialty Clinic position at Park Nicollet Clinics?
JOB DESCRIPTION
This position would require that the team member travel to the Burnsville offsite once per week (Monday OR Wednesday) as well as travel to the Shakopee offsite once per week (Thursday) - Hours at the offsites are based on the provider schedules. The remainder of the team members' time is spent at the Saint Louis Park main site. Utilizes a systematic approach to nursing practice incorporating assessment, planning, nursing, diagnosis, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with the nurse Practice Act, recognized professional standards and Park Nicollet Health Services policy. Accountability for the quality of care delivered, recognizing the limits of knowledge and experience; addressing situations beyond the nurse’s competency; and performing to the level of education, knowledge, and skill ordinarily expected of an individual who has completed an approved professional nursing education program. Supports multiple areas within a clinic setting with strong interpersonal skill and flexibility while maintaining patient confidentiality and protecting patient rights. Promotes a safe and therapeutic environment of care and advocates for the best interests of individual patients. Resolves concerns or complaints regarding patient care or service.

- Tuesday: Saint Louis Park
- Wednesday: Burnsville OR Saint Louis Park
- Thursday: Shakopee
- Friday: Saint Louis Park
Required Qualifications:
- Graduated from an accredited school of nursing
- Associate degree or diploma required
- Maintain a current Minnesota registered nurse’s licensure.
- WI licensure required where applicable.
- Current BLS provider status in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines
- No online only courses accepted.
- Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development necessary to provide appropriate care to the patient population served and ensure safety of patients.
- Possesses the qualities of strong critical thinking skills and ability to multi-task
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and maintain standards of clinical skills and professional ethics as established by the Nurse Practice Act
- Critical thinking, Excellent Interpersonal Skills, Fluent in EMR (EPIC) use
- Understanding of Nursing Practice Act and Scope of Practice for various roles
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- Ambulatory Nursing Experience
- 1 year of prior experience in nursing preferred
