JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Summary:
Collaborates with the Health Care Team in treating sleep breathing disorders and providing instruction and services to patients. This position will assist the CPAP Services Team in providing sleep related medical equipment to patients in an efficient manner while assisting those patients in becoming compliant with their therapy. This position will be responsible for instructing and educating patients regarding the use of the Home Care products for the treatment of their Sleep Disorder Breathing. The position will include continuing education and follow-up for these patients. It may also include the inventory and ordering of supplies, cleaning, testing, and maintaining all returned products as well as documentation to assure billing of equipment and supplies. This position will work closely with the Sleep Center, Pulmonary/Sleep Clinic, and the other CPAP Services staff. This position may be asked to lead certain projects. This position will be expected to lead and teach the rest of the clinical staff. This person may be required to travel to all the CPAP locations within a given week. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:
Three years’ experience in a healthcare setting required.
Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:
MN Respiratory Therapy license required.
BLS provider status in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of sleep breathing disorders and the therapeutic modalities used to treat the disorder.
Knowledge of medical center charting and billing procedures.
Ability to effectively communicate with others, especially the patient care team.
Ability to collaborate with health care team in the delivery of patient care interventions.
Ability to troubleshoot problems with home medical equipment, especially Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) equipment.
Ability to read a patient medical history and compliance report and determine what PAP related interventions can help to increase patient’s compliance with PAP therapy.
