Position Summary
Responsible for complete and accurate data collection, maintenance, and update of Cancer Registry and reporting cases to the Minnesota and Wisconsin Department of Health and the National Cancer Data Base. Assist Oncology program in the required standards for certification. Provides oncology data to be used for education, patient follow-up, and research. Performance of other duties as assigned by manager.

Position Summary
Responsible for complete and accurate data collection, maintenance, and update of Cancer Registry and reporting cases to the Minnesota and Wisconsin Department of Health and the National Cancer Data Base. Assist Oncology program in the required standards for certification. Provides oncology data to be used for education, patient follow-up, and research. Performance of other duties as assigned by manager.
Work Schedule
- 3 days per week
- Completion of the National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA) formal education certificate OR enrolled in the formal NCRA education certificate program.
- Must be eligible to take the Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) exam within 1 year of hire.
- Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology and pathology, and working knowledge of the electronic medical record. Data processing skills.
- Proficiency in the operation of the following: personal computer (utilizing applicable software), printer, photocopier, fax, telephone.
- Associate degree in healthcare field and completion of the National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA) accredited formal education certificate
- Six months experience in a high-volume health care facility preferred.
