The Emergency Center Technician provides direct patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse, utilizing his/her skill and expertise to complement other healthcare providers. The ideal candidate will possess excellent critical thinking, multitasking, and prioritization skills in a fast-paced work environment.
About the Role
We are seeking an Emergency Center Technician to join our team at Methodist Hospital. This is a 0.75 FTE position with rotating day/night 12-hour shifts and every third weekend.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse
- Utilize skill and expertise to complement other healthcare providers
- Ensure safe, patient-centered care in the Emergency Center department
Requirements
- Currently validated CPR skills and BLS provider status in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines
- Completion of EDT program or EMT program or completed at least first quarter clinicals of an accredited RN or LPN program
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education preferred
- EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) or EDT (Emergency Department Technician) experience
- Current EMT License upon hire and licensure maintenance recommended
