Responsible for carrying out the instructions of the Director of Wellness. Supervise and monitor all memory care nursing staff to obtain highest quality care by performing routine nursing duties. Accountable to Director of Wellness/Executive Director for all memory care nursing department activities and maintaining the corporate philosophy of quality care.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The above duties include many of the tasks for LPN. At times it may be necessary to perform other duties as requested by the Director of Nursing or Executive Director. Refusal to perform any task as directed by the Executive Director will be cause for disciplinary action.

Responsible for carrying out the instructions of the Director of Wellness. Supervise and monitor all memory care nursing staff to obtain highest quality care by performing routine nursing duties. Accountable to Director of Wellness/Executive Director for all memory care nursing department activities and maintaining the corporate philosophy of quality care.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise HHAs, CNAs and the facility staff.
- Make daily rounds of all Memory Care residents.
- Observes and reports symptoms and conditions of patients to Director of Wellness “DOW” /Delegating R.N./Physician.
- Administers medications and treatments per signed doctor’s orders in an accurate, safe manner, observes effectiveness and reports to physician if needed.
- Informs DOW of when supplies and equipment are needed.
- Orders medication from pharmacy when needed.
- Supervises the Home Health Aide to ensure that all nursing care is given properly, safely and of the up most quality.
- Administers emergency first aid.
- Assures that daily assignments for patient care, incidental duties, performed by nurse and HHA as outlined by DOW are carried out. Re: Nurse/HHA documentation, Ex: V/S, weights, nurse’s notes, medication, kardex, etc.
- Make daily rounds of all patients and area. Recognize, interpret and report conditions to the DOW/RN/ED as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and neatness of nurse’s station, med room and cart.
- Assist in the orientation of new staff.
- Complete admission and discharge evaluations as necessary.
- Check equipment for cleanliness and condition.
- Provide guidance for nursing assistants.
- Promote and maintain good interpersonal relationships with residents, visitors and personnel.
- Perform related work as required per assignment. Understands duties and responsibilities and ensures they are carried out for Memory Care residents.

Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program, currently licensed to practice per state.
- Work experience in the geriatric field
- Ability to communicate well and in writing.
- Ability to deal with visitors, staff and residents in a courteous manner.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Must be able to work under pressure at times.
- Must be able to perform good grooming practices, personal hygiene and be punctual and regular in attendance.
- Must have warm, friendly, congenial personality. Must present a professional appearance and possess an empathetic attitude towards seniors.
- Ability to assess a resident’s condition and intervene when needed.
- CPR certified, or obtained within 90 days of hire and yearly thereafter.
- May have their picture taken and image used in social media or community advertising.
- May be video recorded from devices installed by families in residents’ apartments.
