What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full Time Floater position at Park Place Children's Center?

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Building relationships with students and their families by clearly and effectively communicating on a daily basis.
- Develop a comprehensive knowledge and abide by the state regulations, Paths to Quality requirements, Park Place Children’s Center policies, and Conscious Discipline.
- Attending all required staff in-service meetings and workshops
- Participating in 20 hours of training per year
- When in the classroom:
- Greeting children and families upon arrival and connecting at dismissal
- Interacting with all children throughout the day during each activity
- Provides verbal recognition and acceptance to children while providing clear and consistent expectations for children’s behavior.
- Having a constant awareness of how many children are in the room and maintaining ratios
- Facilitating mealtimes - set table, serve food, demonstrate manners, fill out appropriate documentation, assist children with clean up
- Assist children with diapering and/or toileting and hand washing
- Cleaning and sanitizing tables, changing tables, and toys
- Maintain an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore and make decisions with confidence
- Assist teacher with assigned duties and activities
- In the office:
- Making copies and paper cutting
- Occasional filing
- Assisting with CACFP paperwork
- Cleaning:
- cleaning and disinfecting areas in the office
- cleaning and disinfecting toys and equipment in classrooms, the running room, and the playground
- organizing storage spaces
- Kitchen:
- counting finger foods
- measuring food
- delivering food to classrooms
- cleaning dishes with a commercial dishwasher
- prepping food (cutting fruits and vegetables, simple cooking, etc.)
Competencies: The floater must be flexible and ready to help in any capacity needed. He or she should have a strong work ethic, be able to learn quickly, and have well rounded knowledge of the operations of each classroom, the office, and the kitchen.
