Description: The Park Ridge Park District is seeking an individual to perform routine maintenance and general labor at the new Oakton Sports Complex which include general carpentry, heating, air conditioning, electrical, plumbing, Zamboni operation and ice maintenance. Will also repair/replace and perform preventative maintenance on equipment, perform snow removal and maintain operational reports. Position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement with the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 73.
Qualifications: Two to three years of experience in facility maintenance. A background in ice maintenance is preferred but not required. The ability to maintain a positive work relationship with staff and the public is essential. A successful candidate will be collaborative, supportive and open to ideas. Must be at least 18 years of age to operate equipment and must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Post-offer physical capacity testing, including a lift assessment, is required. Must possess the ability to learn skills to properly operate an ice resurfacer (i.e. Zamboni) within three months. A valid Illinois Driver’s License in order perform as a District Driver is required.
Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Availability: Typical work-week is evenings 2:30pm-11pm, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week. Occasional daytime, weekends, and holidays as needed to successfully carry out the essential functions of the job.
