Description: The Park Ridge Park District is seeking an individual to perform routine maintenance and technical work within District buildings, facilities and swimming pools which include general carpentry, heating, air conditioning, electrical, plumbing, water chemistry and pool filtration equipment. Will also repair/replace and perform preventative maintenance on equipment, perform snow removal and maintain operational reports. Position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement with the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 73.
Qualifications: Two to three years of experience in facility maintenance. A background in pool maintenance is preferred but not required. The ability to maintain a positive work relationship with staff and the public is essential. A successful candidate will be collaborative, supportive and open to ideas. Must be at least 18 years of age to operate equipment and must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Post-offer physical capacity testing, including a lift assessment, is required. Certified Pool/Spa Operator or ability to obtain certification within six months is required. A valid Illinois Driver’s License in order perform as a District Driver is required.
Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Availability: 5 days a week, will be either Sunday through Thursday or Tuesday through Saturday, 40 hours per week. Typical shift 5am – 1:30pm during pool season (Memorial Day thru Labor Day) and 7am - 3:30pm the rest of the year. Due to the nature of this position it is sometimes necessary to amend work hours to include evenings or additional days during the week.
