OVERVIEW
Description: The Park Ridge Park District has an opening for a Seasonal Garbage Collector to assist in the physical maintenance of the district’s buildings and grounds. Duties include collecting, transporting and disposing of waste and recyclable material and other maintenance duties as directed by the supervisor or manager. Duties also involve contact with the general public and Park District staff. A pleasant demeanor and good judgment must be exercised in dealing with a broad variety of assignments.
Qualifications: No previous experience is necessary. Must have a good understanding of the English language and be able to communicate well with patrons and staff. Selected candidate needs to be a minimum of 18 years of age in order to operate power equipment and the ability to regularly lift objects up to 50 pounds. Due to the lifting requirement, selected individuals will be required to take a post-offer back assessment/lift test.
Education: High school diploma (or equivalent)
Availability: We are seeking applicants to work 5 days a week, Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week from April-October.
