Job Overview : The Permitting Manager will oversee all permitting activities to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and strong organizational skills. As a notary public, the Permitting Manager will also handle document notarization as required by the permitting process.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Permitting Oversight :
  • Manage the preparation, submission, and tracking of permit applications for residential construction projects.
  • Coordinate with municipalities, government agencies, and consultants to ensure timely approvals.
  • Maintain accurate records of permit statuses, deadlines, and compliance requirements.
  • Project Coordination :
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including construction, design, and land development, to align permitting activities with project timelines.
  • Resolve permitting issues or delays by working proactively with relevant stakeholders.
  • Compliance and Documentation :
  • Ensure all permitting activities comply with applicable regulations and standards.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date documentation for all permits, approvals, and related correspondence.
  • Process Improvement :
  • Identify opportunities to streamline the permitting process and reduce lead times.
  • Implement best practices and provide recommendations to enhance efficiency.
  • Administrative Support :
  • Act as a notary public for documents related to the permitting process.
  • Support the permitting team with administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in permitting, construction, or land development, preferably within the homebuilding industry.
  • Notary public certification required or the ability to obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Strong knowledge of permitting regulations and processes in Central Florida.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and project management software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Skills and Competencies :

  • Ability to manage multiple permitting projects with overlapping deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills to address permitting challenges.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with diverse teams and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of building codes, construction processes, and materials.
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working on a computer.
  • Occasional travel to permitting offices or project sites.
  • Ability to lift and carry documents or materials weighing up to 15 pounds.
