ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Manage, monitor and track day-to-day accounting and financial transactions, maintain and balance accounts by verifying, documenting, allocating and posting transactions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- High school diploma or GED - (Required).
- Associate’s degree or equivalent college coursework applicable to the position - (Preferred).
Experience:
- At least three years of experience in bookkeeping and financial processes - (Required).
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrate prompt and regular attendance.
- Utilize the school financial software to record financial transactions.
- Balance all revenue received, tally and enter cash receipts, prepare bank deposits and make timely deposits at the bank.
- Enter purchase orders and check requests with supporting documentation into the financial software.
- Verify vendor invoices and resolve discrepancies prior to initiating payment.
- Process and post procurement card purchases to the financial software; maintain records of receipts and invoices that support those purchases.
- Perform a daily review of the school’s checking account and monitor financial records on an ongoing basis.
- Maintains and audits all club accounts.
- Assist the principal with budget management and tracking of funds.
- Prepare reports as needed for principal and/or central office review.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
Experience with data entry, record keeping and computer proficiency
(Microsoft office, Excel) required.
Ability to effectively collaborate with other employees.
Knowledge of clerical and bookkeeping principles and practices.
Physical Demands:
- Frequent walking, sitting, and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry instructional materials and equipment up to 25 pounds.
- Dexterity to write on a board, operate a computer, and use other classroom technology.
- Occasional bending, stooping, and reaching.
- Clear speech and hearing abilities for effective communication.
- Visual acuity to read printed and digital materials.
Work Environment:
Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
