What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Director - Nonprofit Program position at Park View Community Mission?
Summary:
Food for Thought is one of Park View Community Mission’s six programs. Its primary goal is providing nutrition to area students when not at school, particularly during weekends and school breaks. Secondarily, FFT provides warehousing space for all of Park View’s programs and operations. This position works as a part of Park View’s staff to further our mission statement to offer help, healing, and hope to our neighbors. The Assistant Director will primarily be responsible for supporting the daily safe and efficient productivity of the FFT warehouse. This position will have an office at FFT in the lower level of The Plaza. This position reports directly to the Food for Thought Director.
Ability to:
- Lift up to 50 lbs. at one time
- Exhibit training or agree to be trained to utilize manual and electric pallet stackers within the first month of employment
- Show certification or agreement to become certified as a forklift operator within three months of employment
- Drive Park View vans and box truck, which is contingent upon a good driving record
- Execute effective use of Park View’s warehouse space to the benefit of FFT and all of Park View’s programs
- Utilize Google Workspace
- Interact with diverse groups of people and age ranges
- Communicate and articulate program processes and procedures to volunteers, community, college and university leaders as needed or requested
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Weekly warehouse supply acquisition, loading, unloading, moving, and organization of food and product inventory. (Blue Ridge Area Food Bank, weekend meal bags, Park View pantry)
- Accurate and consistent maintenance of statistical data on Park View Stat Master and Master Tracking software- which may include:
- Weekend meal bag distribution, neighborhood center and college distribution totals
- Donations received and values of in kind donations
- Volunteer and student service hours
- Complete daily tasks in the warehouse (preparing, cleaning, moving, organizing)
- Assist volunteer drivers with loading and/or delivering weekend meal bag supplies
- Oversee food bag packing, pantry distribution, and volunteers as needed or requested
- General office duties and team responsibilities including answering phones, greeting and directing visitors, preparing reports, and attending weekly staff meetings
Job Requirements:
- Technical or Associates degree preferred
- 2-5 years work experience in a related field preferred
- Valid Driver’s License
- This is a full time position requiring 40 hours/week, and Saturday availability
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
