INFECTION PREVENTIONIST NURSE
Job Summary :
Infection Preventionist : term used for the person designated by the facility to be responsible for the infection prevention and control program (IPCP). This is designed to provide a safe, sanitary and comfortable environment and to help prevent the development and transmission of communicable diseases and infections. This person reports directly to the DON and partners with the Medical Director, Administrator, Infectious Disease Specialist, Lab and others to develop a system of care that promotes scientific infection prevention principles and practices. Through strategic planning, leadership and consultation, this person will identify and implement infection prevention goals and objectives throughout the facility.
Qualifications :
- Must be a current active RN or LPN in the state of Illinois
- Must be able to work full time with flexible hours as needed
- Must be willing and able to travel between facilities as needed
- Must be able to perform extended walking and standing periods
- Must maintain current CPR card at all times with knowledge of managing codes
- Must be able to foster effective working relationships
- Must, at a minimum, possess the CDC Infection Preventionist Certification and CMS (QSEP) Training
- Must be able to interpret labs, analyze data and form conclusions
- Must be able to organize, plan and prioritize
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English effectively
- Must be accountable to abide by all rules of facility as any other staff member
