Schedule:
- Full-Time
- Wednesday – Sunday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Rate of Pay:
- $17 - $18 per hour
Job Summary:
This position supports the Activities Director in planning and implementing programs that foster an engaging and positive atmosphere for residents. The role focuses on providing activities that meet residents' social, physical, intellectual, and emotional needs within the community. This position will primarily serve Assisted Living residents but may occasionally assist in Memory Care as needed. Driving the community van for resident outings is a key responsibility of this role.
Essential Functions:
- Support the mission, vision, and culture of the organization through positive communication and leadership.
- Contribute to community relationships by demonstrating cooperation and professional conduct with residents, families, team members, and vendors.
- Assist in planning, preparing, and conducting group activities, including social events, arts and crafts, games, and exercise classes.
- Promote resident attendance and participation in activities.
- Assist with creating and updating activity calendars and newsletters.
- Drive the community van for resident outings, ensuring safety and timeliness.
- Assist residents entering and exiting the van safely.
- Support seasonal and holiday decorations throughout the community.
- Help with gardening projects and outdoor activities.
- Maintain activity areas in a clean and organized condition.
Added Responsibilities:
- Respond appropriately to changes in the work setting.
- Perform other related assignments as required.
- Assist the Community Relations Director with large events and gatherings.
- Provide support at the front desk, or dining room, as needed.
- Be familiar with the Carefield Senior Living Policies & Procedures Manual and Staff Handbook.
Job Specifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent certificate.
- 6 months experience with Activities in relevant field.
- Valid First Aid Certification and a valid driver’s license (clean driving record required).
- Availability for weekend coverage and on-call emergencies on a rotating basis.
- Ability to operate standard equipment such as company van, audio systems, DVD players, and other activity-related tools.
- Positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills, especially when working with the elderly.
Effort:
- Maintain mental alertness, attention, and concentration for extended periods.
- Follow instructions effectively (written, oral, or diagrammatic).
- Adapt to changing schedules, responsibilities, and resident needs.
- Frequently stand, stoop, bend, lift up to 20 pounds, and push up to 40 pounds.
- Perform tasks requiring hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, and visual accuracy.
- Occasionally kneel, crouch, or operate small power tools.

Working Conditions:
- Must be willing and able to work required shifts, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
