Job Description:
Park West is searching for a self-motivated and detail-oriented information technology/ data analyst professional. The EMR Support Specialist will work as a part of the information technology/informatics team. The position requires the ability to work independently as well as under the direction of the Director of IT and the Manager of Business Informatics to support a wide range of EMR and application functions and projects including end user training and end user day-to-day support regarding EMR functionality and navigation. The EMR Support Specialist will lead or participate in individual and small group trainings in-person or virtually. The Specialist will assist the Director in creating the training curriculum as well as the policies and procedures that govern the implementation of EMR training throughout the organization. The goals of the training program are to ensure timely, accurate and complete data capture that optimizes productivity, quality patient care and patient revenue. Responsibilities:
- The EMR Support Specialist will collaborate with other members of the Information Technology/Informatics team to work with our health information technology partner organizations to develop and maintain a fully functional EMR/EHR across the company including telehealth and dental health platforms
- Create and manage training material that will be used to train employees on IT Systems
- Support the manager of business informatics in development of our EMR software partnerships and streamline the deployment of their APIs and integrations including a patient portal, system interfaces, registries and health information exchanges and to incorporate such functions into end user trainings.
- Support the Manager of Business Informatics on all EMR projects and system upgrades and transitions with a focus on minimizing downtime
- Work with staff to resolve day-to-day support, permissions, password and connection issues relating to the EMR and software applications.
- Support the implementation of new internal software or platform integrations.
- Stay up to date with the current state of health information technology via continuing education and peer relationships
Requirements: The successful candidate will ideally possess:
- AA, Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in an information technology or related field
- 3-5 years of IT experience, preferably in a health care organization
- Experience working with EMR software, including end user training
- Working knowledge of concepts of API integration
- Excellent time management, organization and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to convey technical terms to non-technical audiences in a respectful manner
- Comfort in working in both remote and on-site venues
- Proficient in basic Microsoft Office applications
