Landscape Construction - Field Supervisor

The Construction Field Supervisor is a vital member of the construction site leadership. Responsibilities include overseeing landscape and irrigation construction, worker training and supervision, equipment use management, adherence to safety protocols, and various administrative duties. This role involves collaboration with contractors, architects, and engineers to meet project goals on time, within budget, and to quality standards. Leadership skills and extensive knowledge in construction equipment, materials, methods, and field experience are essential.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Installation of materials for landscape, irrigation, and/or site development.
• Task coordination according to priorities and plans.
• Crew schedule management and attendance monitoring.
• Daily responsibility allocation.
• Worker and tradesperson supervision and training.
• Ensuring adequate manpower and resources.
• Adherence to safety precautions and quality standards.
• Supervision of machinery and equipment use.
• Budget monitoring and expenditure control.
• Liaison between construction workers and Superintendent.
• Problem resolution.
• Progress reporting to Superintendent, Project Manager, or Project Engineer.
• Material and equipment delivery scheduling.
• Monitoring crew production rates, quality control, and safety.
• Time and Material work orders management.
• Job scheduling and subcontractor coordination.
• Weekly tailgate meeting attendance enforcement.
• Safety checks and hazard reviews.
• Hazardous communication folder maintenance.
• Accident reporting and safety activity monitoring.

Compliance Responsibilities:

• Safeguarding assets from theft and misuse.
• Ensuring segregation of duties to minimize fraud.
• Compliance with business ethics, laws, and regulations.
• Maintaining confidentiality of proprietary information.
• Physical asset reconciliation to accounting records.
• Delegating tasks and overseeing tool and equipment use.
• Crew member recruitment and training.
• Cost, material, equipment, and time estimates.
• Training session scheduling as required.

Qualifications Skills:

• Minimum 3 years experience as a landscape construction Field Supervisor.
• Bilingual (Spanish).
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Deep knowledge of Landscape and Irrigation trade.
• Construction drawing and blueprint reading ability.
• Polite and friendly personality for client interaction.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work in diverse weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license.
• OSHA Safety Certifications (may be required).
• Reliable and self-motivated.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Availability for after-hours, weekends, and public holidays work, often with short notice.
• Familiarity with landscaping tools and equipment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour

Experience:

• reading and interpreting construction blueprints: 2 years (Preferred)
• supervising and training construction crews?: 2 years (Preferred)

• scheduling and coordinating subcontractors?: 2 years (Preferred)
• landscape and irrigation construction?: 2 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• California Drivers License (Preferred)

Ability to Relocate:

• Corona, CA: Relocate before starting work (Required)
