JOB TITLE: PAINTER/ PLASTERER

LOCATION: Parkchester

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

We are looking for a Painter/Plasterer. This is a union position reporting directly to the Director of Operations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Reads work order or receives instructions from supervisor

• Knowledge working with lime and plaster

• Prepare surfaces for painting by filling nail holes, cracks, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other filler; and wash surfaces before painting with mildew remover.

• Spreads drop cloths over floors and room furnishings, and covers surfaces such as baseboards, doorframes, and windows with masking tape and paper to protect surfaces during painting.

• Removes fixtures such as pictures and electric switch covers from walls before painting.

• Selects premixed paints, or mixes required portions of pigment, oil, and thinning and drying substances to prepare paint that matches specified colors.

• Paints surfaces with brushes, spray gun, or paint rollers.

• Simulates wood grain, marble, brick, or tile effects.

• Erects scaffolding or sets up ladders to perform tasks above ground level.

• Performs additional assignments as required by operating needs of the company or as directed by management.

• The position requires someone that frequently needs to stay stationary, move around the property and within residential spaces and workshops, frequently position themselves to move, climb, bend, kneel, and balance while working with equipment and machinery. They also constantly move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds across the property.

Pay: $25.60 per hour

• 8 hour shift

Experience:

• Commercial/Residential painting: 2 years (Preferred)
• Plastering: 2 years (Preferred)
