What are the responsibilities and job description for the APL Operator position at Parkdale Mills, Inc.?
- Responsible for manually packing the machines assigned.
- Inspect each package for quality.
- Reject packages with wild yarn, no tails, dirty or cut.
- Document reject packages, by reason.
- Inspect and signoff complete pallets of product, label, and identify by product code.
- Pay attention to yarn sizes/small/medium/large/cotton
- Learn all product codes and weights:
- Bring pallets to the APL line for processing and enter into the system by entering the PC.
- Responsible for entering all pallets and removing the pallets once they are conditioned, wrapped and strapped.
- Re-creel packages too damaged for repair
- Inspect each pallet and yarn case for the correct yarn ID.
- Remove suction chamber waste from assigned machines.
- Fill tube elevators on assigned machines.
- Sweep work area to maintain a high level of housekeeping.
- Any other duties assigned by your supervisor.
Previous forklift experience
Preferred Education/Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
Forklift certified. High School Diploma or GED
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Must be able to learn and perform all scheduled job procedures independently; to keep the assigned job functioning at all times.
Physical Demands And Work Environment
Must be physically equipped to maintain an upright, walking position for a twelve (12) hour shifts. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Must keep work area and machines clean. Wear required personal protective equipment at all times and adhered to all safety rules and procedures.
