Job Overview:
Parker Academy, a small, therapeutic school in Concord, NH, serves around 35 middle and high school students with individual learning needs and emotional support requirements. Our trauma-informed, strength-based approach emphasizes quality relationships and real-world learning experiences. We utilize our campus and nearby Winant trails for nature exploration and the greater Concord area for community service and life skills practice. We are seeking a creative and hands-on Part-Time Industrial Arts Teacher (6-12 hours/week) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing students with practical, project-based learning opportunities in industrial arts, engaging them in real-world tasks. This position is perfect for an educator who enjoys working in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Duties:
Develop and teach industrial arts lessons that engage students through hands-on projects and skill-building activities. Adapt lessons to meet the individual needs of neurodivergent students and ensure a safe, supportive learning environment. Collaborate with staff to integrate industrial arts projects into broader curriculum goals and learning experiences. Maintain classroom organization, safety, and discipline during activities.
