Intro to Leadership- Public Speaking and Debate
Are you a person of passion and conviction, with a love for critical thinking and dialogue? In this class, students learn to use logic and other rhetorical tools to support their positions and to express themselves succinctly and skillfully. Students learn to walk and talk with assuredness and purpose, overcome jitters, and deliver speeches with confidence and animation!
About the Role
As a Public Speaking Instructor, you'll teach students how to:
- Overcome stage jitters with poise and self-assurance.
- Use logic and rhetorical tools to craft persuasive arguments.
- Deliver speeches with confidence, clarity, and animation.
This role is perfect for individuals with a knack for communication and a passion for inspiring others.
Class Details
- Course: Public Speaking (with provided curriculum)
- Dates: 4/9/25 - 6/4/25 (Wednesdays)
- Grades: 5th-8th
- Time: 3:30-4:30 PM
- Location: Park Slope
What You’ll Do
- Lead engaging and structured lessons designed to develop speaking skills.
- Empower students to express themselves confidently and with purpose.
- Adapt and enhance provided curriculum to meet students’ needs.

- Have or are willing to obtain NYCDOE fingerprint clearance (we’ll help you get it!).
