Part-Time After-School Enrichment Instructor (Independent Contractor)
Parker Anderson Enrichment NYC is seeking part-time after-school instructors to lead engaging enrichment classes for elementary students. This is a great opportunity for educators, substitutes, college students, retired teachers, and professionals looking for a flexible, low-hour commitment while earning extra income.
Position Details:
- Teach one-hour enrichment classes on a set schedule.
- Work as an independent contractor (paid via Zelle once per month).
- Most instructors teach 1-3 classes per week, one hour per day (depending on availability).
- Classes are on-site at schools and take place immediately after school.
- Typical class times: 3:00-4:00 PM (arrival by 2:30 PM required). Some schools may start at 3:30 PM.
We ask that applicants have at least one or two afternoons available per week and consider potential commutes before applying.
Current Hiring Need: French Immersion Instructor
Do you speak French? This interactive and engaging class helps students learn French through games, activities, riddles, and cultural elements rather than rote memorization. While grammar and conjugation are introduced, the focus is on intuitive learning and fun.
- Location: Brooklyn Heights
- Dates: April 3, 2025 - June 5, 2025 (Thursdays)
- Time: 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM (includes 30 minutes of snack supervision and 1 hour of active teaching)
- Grades: Pre-K - 2nd
- Compensation: $75 per class
- Curriculum: No set curriculum is provided; instructors are expected to develop their own engaging lessons.
Requirements:
- NYCDOE Fingerprint Clearance (or willingness to obtain—easy process, and we can nominate you)
- Afternoon availability to teach at schools in Upper West Side, Upper East Side, Midtown, Lower Manhattan, or Brooklyn (Hoboken, NJ candidates are also welcome)
- Fully vaccinated & boosted (per NYC school requirements; some schools require boosters)
- Experience working with elementary students
