Job summary: The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, placing, and recognizing volunteers at Center of Hope, including both individual and group volunteers. Additionally, the role involves assisting with various community engagement activities. This position requires consistent collaboration with supervisors and staff, in-person interactions with colleagues, volunteers, supporters, and participants, as well as direct access to documents, resources, and other materials available at Center of Hope.

Essential Functions:
· Develop and implement strategies for soliciting, engaging and maintaining volunteers; Conduct regular volunteer orientation sessions
Identify and screen new volunteers by conducting interviews, background and reference checks
· Collaborate with Center staff to identify volunteer opportunities and needs
· Assess volunteer skills, availability, and goals and match volunteer with appropriate position(s)
· Assist with the development and implementation of volunteer policies and procedures
· Maintain ongoing communication with volunteers, including producing a monthly newsletter
Work with Director of Administration to design and implement volunteer training program
Coordinate volunteer recognition and appreciation events and activities
· Complete monthly data reporting, including data input in ETO and management of volunteer database
· Provide tours for new volunteers and Center visitors
· Coordinate group volunteer projects, including quarterly Family Serve Days and annual Christmas events
· Serve as a member of the development team assisting with special events and fundraising efforts
· Represent Center of Hope at community events and establish and build relationships with Center of Hope partners and potential supporters
· Attend and participates in departmental and Center of Hope meetings and professional development activities
· Perform other responsibilities, as requested by supervisor and/or Directors
Qualifications:
· Actively involved in a Christian church; personal life reflects strong Christian principles
· U.S. citizenship or permanent residency; legally authorized to work in the US
· Associate degree or higher required
· Experience working with volunteers required
· Strong communication skills, written and verbal
· Interest in community service
· Ability to direct people as they work on projects together to accomplish meaningful goals
· Able to work independently and make appropriate decisions while supervising individuals and groups of volunteers
· Proficient in computer literacy and Microsoft Office Suite
Work week expectation:
· This is a full-time, non-exempt position of approximately 30-32 hours per week.
· The workweek is Monday-Thursday; some weekend days will be required occasionally. Although primary working hours are during the day, on occasion, some evening and/or weekend work will be required to complete tasks.
· Time spent representing Center of Hope or conducting other Center business away from the main buildings shall be included in the hours of work listed.
Other requirements of this position:
· Prolonged standing and walking, as well as sitting at a desk and using a computer
· Physically able to bend, stoop, and lift in order to facilitate job responsibilities noted above
· Must be able to safely routinely lift boxes, bags and donated items weighing up to 10-15 pounds, and occasionally heavier items as needed, using appropriate equipment and designated safety protocols
· Vision and hearing must be sufficient to interact with other staff, volunteers, donors and participants and to carry out the responsibilities of the job as noted herein

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
