REPORTS TO: Superintendent
SUPERVISES: Parker School Employees
NATURE AND SCOPE OF JOB: The Billerica Public Schools and the Parker School community are actively seeking a dynamic, insightful instructional leader who is committed to student learning in a collaborative, diverse and welcoming atmosphere in which all students are valued for their inherent dignity and unique talents and abilities. The Parker Elementary School is one of five elementary schools and is home to nearly 450 students in grades K-4.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Hold a valid MA license in the area of Principal/Assistant Principal, PK-6
Hold a master’s degree in education from an accredited college or university
Have a minimum of five years of successful teaching experience at the elementary level
Experience in school leadership, such as assistant principal, instructional coach, preferred
Knowledge of curriculum development, implementation and evaluation.
Understanding of effective instructional practices and assessment strategies
Experience with data analysis and using data to drive school improvement
Familiarity with state and federal education regulations
Proven ability to manage school operations, including budgeting, scheduling and facilities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and the community
Strong experience with special education and diverse student populations
EMPLOYMENT TERMS:
Twelve month work year

JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Instructional Leadership:
Provide instructional leadership and support tp teachers to improve student outcomes
Observe and evaluation classroom instruction, providing constructive feedback for growth
Lead the implementation of effective instructional strategies and best practices
Analyze student data to identify areas for improvement and develop targeted interventions
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development for staff
Oversee the implementation of the school’s curriculum
Monitor student progress and achievement through assessments
Ensure alignment of curriculum with state standards
Student Support:
Ensure that all students have access to high-quality education
Support the needs of diverse student populations
Implement and monitor student support services, including but not limited to MTSS, counseling, and special education
Ensure that all students feel safe, supported and valued
School Management & Operations:
Manage school budgets, resources, and facilities effectively
Implement district policies and develop/implement school practices and procedures
Oversee student attendance, safety, and discipline
Create and maintain a positive and safe learning environment
Ensure compliance with state and federal education regulations
Staff Supervision and Development:
Hire, supervise and evaluate school staff
Collaborate with with Assistant Superintendent, Coordinators, Special Education Department, and key district employees to provide professional development opportunities for teachers and staff
Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment
Mediate and resolve staff conflicts
Community and Parent Engagement:
Build strong relationships with parents and the community
Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and school events
Facilitate parent involvement in school activities and decision-making, when appropriate
Represent the school in community events and meetings
Execute other tasks and duties assigned by the Superintendent
