SHIFT: 1st Shift Monday thru Friday - 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM with occasional OT
We are seeking a skilled Material Handler to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for for the safe, accurate, and efficient movement, storage, and tracking of materials within Parker Fabrication Inc. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing or fast-paced environments, logistics and/or warehousing, be extremely organized and accurate, and have fine attention to detail.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Understands and observes all necessary safety procedures.
- Relies on specific instructions and pre-existing guidelines to perform functions of the job.
- Receives incoming deliveries including the unloading, inspection, labeling, and storage of goods.
- Communicate to appropriate staff when goods arrive.
- Pulls materials from storage to stage for Work-In-Process.
- Loading/Unloading production components, consumables,and finished goods.
- Ensuring accurage inventory records are kept, maintiained, and inspected for accuracy.
- Utilize technology and communication tools to ensure proper documentation and record-keeping occurs in a timely and accurate manner.
- Distributing bulk goods into smaller portions to match production needs.
- Regular assistance in the maintenance and care for equipment and machinery.
- Regular assistance in the organization and cleanliness of work areas.
- Communicating unexpected issues to proper authorities in a timely manner.
EDUCATION: High School Diploma preferred
EXPERIENCE:
One year of related experience is preferred.
Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)
SKILLS / ABILITIES:
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in English.
- Must be able to pass a forklift certification test.
- Must have basic computer literacy (Windows).
- Ability to accurately prioritize their time and effort based on cost and matters of greatest importance.
- Ability to accurately count and enter data with a low rate of failure.
- Ability to creatively consider processes and recommend improvements to bolster efficiency.
- Ability to work within the confines of a standard employee handbook regarding attendance, discipline, off-work conduct.
- Ability to test equipment to ensure proper functionality and confirm desired output.
EQUIPMENT USED: PC, Forklift, Pallet Jacks, Carts, Shipping Tools (Strappers, Wrappers, Staplers), Label Printers
