Duties/Responsibilities
- Perform operations and set up on trim presses and cleaning and cooling systems
- Read and interpret process prints, including math conversions for setting machines.
- Use prescribed procedures, setups, and judgment to perform work in order of sequences and maintain quality
- Successfully complete Machine Operator A (MOA) training class
- Produce and inspect finished parts using scales, calipers, micrometers, adjustable, direct reading, and fixed gages to check work
- Adjust machines or vary degree of pressure/stroke to suit type of materials, contour, and size
- Check work using straight edge, contour sweep gauges, templates, and layouts
- Ability to receive and retain training, instruction and work other shifts throughout progression
- Use of judgment to plan, perform and make decisions as to set ups and operations within recognized procedures
- This position is a progression to levels "B" and during a one-year period
- Proceed on work assignments with some supervision and some assistance
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor
- Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures, and in a manner, that eliminates unreasonable risk to health and the environment. Notify management of unsafe conditions or practices, unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to management immediately.
- Prevent excess waste of product and/or components by operating the equipment in an efficient manner.
- Work with groups in initiating and implementation of programs such as Lean Manufacturing and
5-S projects.
