Parker Lord’s Dayton facility manufactures passive vibration mounts for commercial and military aerospace applications. We pride ourselves in differentiating from our competitors by providing high technology solutions and the highest quality products. Our core competencies include machining and rubber-to-metal bonding, and we hold multiple industry and aerospace customer certifications, including AS9100 and NADCAP.
Position Summary
Perform special process operations to ensure aerospace components meet required quality standards at expected production levels. Processes include but are not limited to deburr, dot peen, sandblasting, painting and cleaning prior to machining.
Essential Job Functions
Deburr:
- Performs hand finishing operations to generate dimensional features on the majority of part numbers within the Dayton facility
- Perform deburr operations while maintaining established geometry on complex, machined components
- Performs complex rework processes on high precision components
- Setup and operate dot peen machines and perform minor program edits as necessary
- Operate and maintain all auxiliary equipment including vibratory tumbler, parts washer, etc.
Bluecoat:
- Performs all Bluecoat operations including blasting, coating, cure process, scotch cast and Bell Coat
- Perform all inspection processes using a fisherscope, surface plate, micrometers, comparator, etc.
- Setup and operate the department lathe
- Performs complex processes on high precision components
- Operates all auxiliary equipment including hurricane cleaner, drill press, etc.
Either Area:
- Completes necessary paperwork and documentation to ensure quality conformance and the proper movement and control of product and completes all quality related inspection requirements
- Troubleshoots process problems independently
- Collaborates with Engineering and Leadership to develop new and improve existing processes
- Trains others by transferring part, process and equipment knowledge
- Ensures all equipment and materials used to perform job functions are compliant to procedures
- Suggest and participate in the implementation of process improvements and scrap reduction activities
- Performs all required preventative maintenance activities
- Adheres to all safety guidelines and procedures
- Responsible for the proper storage and disposition of hazardous waste
- Other assignments as required

- Flexible with work and job assignments and willing to perform any function as needed
- Must be dependable and available to work overtime when required
- Understands and demonstrates comprehension of drawings, blueprints and Manufacturing Work Instructions
- Proficient with Microsoft Office including Outlook
- Self-motivated and ability to work effectively and efficiently with limited supervision
- Ability to carry/ lift up to 35 lbs. (50% of the time). Must have the ability to stand, kneel, squat, stoop, use fingers and hands to feel, lift or handle tools, parts and equipment.
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent
