The Industrial Process Filtration Division brings together over one hundred years of expertise in filtration and separation products. Position Summary
The Planner will assist with the planning, scheduling and monitoring the movement of material through the production cycle. Key responsibilities include loading and managing the production schedule for the plant to ensure on-time delivery, low inventory and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Interprets sales orders, develops and maintains production schedules, calculates material requirements, prepares purchase requisitions, releases manufacturing orders and prepares shipping documents in support of on-time shipments.
- Coordinates material movements between internal work and storage areas and/or outside processing or suppliers to ensure materials are available when needed.
- Schedules and expedites the movement of parts by means of move orders and/or stock transfers to meet customer shipping dates and minimize inventory.
- Coordinates cross-functional activities with Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Engineering, Inventory Control, Shipping/Receiving, and Contract Administration to ensure a smooth flow of materials through the production process and consistent information regarding status and priorities.
- Manage projects from sale order release to product delivery.
- Resolves problems associated with inventories, procurement, scheduling, work-in-process and shipments to ensure on-time delivery.
- Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems
- Execute Engineering change notice to maintain appropriate configuration on open purchase order, inventory and in process work order.
- Works from engineering drawings and system data to create purchase requisitions, production schedules and incorporate engineering change notices.
- Participates in department and program meetings.
- Prepares status reports as required.
- Coordinates project closeouts as assigned.
- Performs other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree; and/or 1 to 3 years related experience and/or training. APICS courses and Certification desired.
- Minimum 1 years experience with material and production planning information systems in a manufacturing/assembly environment (MPS/MRP).
- Possess analytical and technical skills required to understand business practices and recommend proper automation opportunities
- Must have intermediate to advanced computer skills
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external contacts
- Must embrace lean enterprise principles and practices
- Abiltiy to read engineering drawings and specs
