Job Title
Lead Engineer - Multiple Product Development Teams
Position Summary
This is a senior leadership position responsible for leading and managing multiple product development engineering teams across various technical disciplines. The successful candidate will be accountable for defining long-term engineering plans, ensuring program objectives are met, and interacting with major customers and division leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Align engineering objectives and project plans with overall business unit or Division strategy.
- Develop plans for multiple project teams and determine resource allocation by reviewing technical proposals and conferring with management.
- Manage the deployment of resources among teams and for engineers assigned to various programs.
- Provide leadership and direction on product development and research activities, including the introduction of new technology.
- Maintain frequent formal and informal program management and customer interface to present status and/or refine project plans.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a science technical discipline required; master's degree preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through 12-15 years of related experience.
- Prior leadership responsibility for 4 or more years, including management of multiple teams and projects.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of multiple engineering and/or scientific fields and specialized product/system integration requirements.
