This position is responsible for the operation of equipment to produce rubber hose. Positions include: 2-spiral and 4-spiral cover operators, mandrel and wash cover operator, 4-spiral and 2-spiral tube operators, mandrel and wash tube operators, and EZ Form operators.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Set up, operate, and monitor extruders and braider decks to produce rubber tube and cover and make adjustments to correct for speed and temperature
- Load bobbins of yarn on braider decks and balance for operation
- Operate braiders decks to wrap yarn over the tube to reinforce the hose
- Utilize computer to access specifications, enter quality data and print specifications
- Use drops, calipers, thickness gauges and OD tapes to measure product and assure conformance to specification
- Able to foster professionalism with all associates along with internal and external customers
- Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures in a manner that eliminates risk to health and the environment. Notify leadership of unsafe conditions or practices unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to leadership immediately.
- Participate in peer-based teams (i.e., Natural High Performance Teams), and work with groups to initiate and implement programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5-S.
- Participate on project teams, star point teams and kaizen events when needed.
- Attend and participate in all training opportunities required to develop in the role
