Parker Oil and Propane is currently searching for a FULL TIME Office Clerk for the Corporate Office located in South Hill, VA. This person must enjoy working with other employees and with customers. This position spends a lot of time entering data into a computer program. This person MUST be a people person in order to succeed in this position.
- Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts receivables’ data
- Prepares bank deposits
- Prepares, posts, verifies, and records customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable.
- Creates invoices according to company practices; submits invoices to customers.
- Maintains and updates customer files, including name or address changes, mergers, or mailing attentions.
- Creates reports regarding the current status of customer accounts as requested.
- Researches customer discrepancies and past-due amounts with the assistance of the Collections Manager and other staff.
- Assists in generating invoices and monthly billing statements
- Assists Controller in reconciling receivable accounts each month.
- Copies, files, and retrieves materials for accounts receivable as needed.
- Relays changes of information to appropriate employees.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
This is a fast pace environment and requires someone who can multi-task while staying organized. In this position you will also have other job duties such as daily paperwork, filing, etc.… This position requires you to be very computer savvy especially with Microsoft Word and Excel.
