Overview:
Well-respected, global wholesaler of apparel, headquartered in Hong Kong, seeks a highly skilled Assistant Director of Finance & Accounting for either their New York City or Greensboro office to oversee day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate financial statements and maintaining compliance with regulations. This person will collaborate closely with diverse teams to contribute to ongoing success. Your strategic mindset and financial acumen will be vital in developing and executing financial strategies aligned with business objectives.
Responsibilities:
Accounting/Financial Reporting
- Manage the monthly closing process to ensure the timely and accurate presentation of financial results.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all financial records.
- Prepare reconciliations for various general ledger accounts.
- Work on projects as required.
- Possess excellent spreadsheet skills (Excel) to update and maintain automated financial reporting package.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Consolidate, aggregate, and analyze business input on sales, revenue, and operating expenses.
- Engage in discussions and collaborate with management during the iterative budgeting process.
- Input budgeting data into the corporate financial planning system (e.g., Jedox).
- Support the creation of PowerPoint presentations for budget and quarterly discussions with the C-suite
Leadership & Teams
- Work closely with members of finance teams across divisions.
- Manage accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), and inventory control processes.
- Liaise with management on reporting requirements.
- Analyze, implement, and perform proper accounting procedures.
- Monitor, enhance, and enforce internal controls.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors as needed.
Requirements
- 10 years of hands-on Accounting experience with a BS/BA degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Public accounting and/or industry experience a plus.
- Strong desire to continuously learn new skills, evolve, and demonstrate intellectual curiosity.
- Experience with financial software, such as E1 or Oracle.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
Compensation/Benefits:
- The approximate annual base salary range for this position is $120,000 to $130,000 depending upon the individual’s qualifications and years/level of relevant experience.
