What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Staff Accountant position at Parker's Kitchen?
The senior stafff accountant will be responsible for daily accounting functions and assisting with the monthly closing process.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Challenge current processes across the company and identify opportunities for refinement
- Has the ability to analyze financial information, identify and report inconsistencies in financial entries, documents and reports
- Has experience with making general ledger entries, has a deep understanding of debits and credits
- Develops and promotes internal controls to protect financial assets that align with auditing standards and ensures those standards are followed
- Perform daily reconciliations, identify inconsistencies, track down root cause and corrective action
- Assist in the inventory audit and reconciliation functions.
- Assist in the Accounts payable functions
- Comfortable working in a fast paced, fast-growing organization
- Research and respond to accounting inquiries from various personnel. Communicate findings in a clear and concise manner
- Develop an in-depth working knowledge of all operational and accounting computer software / equipment systems that impact the accounting and financial reporting processes
- Ensure that all deadlines are met in accordance with department closing dates
- Other special projects, reports, tasks, and financial assessments as assigned by Senior Management
- Promote training and process improvement that creates more efficient business practices
- Position requires scheduling availability during normal business hours with flexibility as business necessitates
- Earns the trust of others through open, honest communication and follow through
- Maintains working knowledge of control policies and procedures as established by the company and required to be followed by all locations
- Plans work and schedules activities, so deadlines and objectives are met
- Promote fair and consistent application of company policies and procedures
- Respectfully interact with co-workers, customers and vendors
- Accountable to act with integrity, adhere to company expectations of performance and behavior, abide by work rules and demonstrate high standards of moral and ethical conduct at all times
- Maintains confidentiality of all company information, is forthcoming in reporting all policy and procedural violations and any wrongdoing to the Director of Human Resources
