Machine Assembler
Job description
Parkinson Technologies Inc., a leading designer, and manufacturer of large-scale winding, web-handling, and plastics processing equipment, has an immediate opening for Mechanical Assemblers within our assembly department.
Qualifications:
· Must have Auto/Truck Mechanic experience.
· Read and interpret assembly blueprints or specifications manuals and plan assembly or building operations.
· Inspect, operate, and test completed products to verify functioning, machine capabilities, or conformance to customer specifications.
· Position or align components for assembly manually or using hoists.
· Set and verify parts clearances.
· Verify conformance of parts to stock lists or blueprints using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges, or micrometers.
· Fasten or install piping, fixtures, wiring, and electrical components to form assemblies or subassemblies using hand tools, rivet guns, or welding equipment.
· Remove rough spots and smooth surfaces to fit, trim, or clean parts using hand or power tools.
· Layout, drill, ream, tap, or cut parts for assembly.
· Rework, repair, or replace damaged parts or assemblies.
· Assemble systems of gears by aligning and meshing gears in gearboxes.
· Set up and operate metalworking machines, such as milling or grinding, to shape or fabricate parts.
· Maintain and lubricate parts or components.
Additional Considerations:
· Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics.
· Assembly techniques focusing on the following: Pneumatics, laser alignment, Bills of Material, CAD file reading, rigging, and other assembly-related tasks.
· Must be a self-motivated team player and have a strong work ethic.
· The ability to work independently.
· Must have some personal hand tools such as sockets and wrenches.
· Willing to work overtime, including some Saturdays when requested.
· Hoist, crane, and lift truck experience is a plus.
