- Monitor and report positions, exposures and mark to market daily
- Conduct daily independent assessment and analysis of mark to market movements including changes in process/curve, inventory and other physical and financial positions
- Compile and translate analysis and dialogue with Front Office to build an explanatory view of events on a daily and monthly basis
- Monitor adherence to and enforcement of risk management policies, standards, programs and procedures
- Provide independent analysis of risk exposure including changes in prices, curves, and physical and financial positions
- Collaborate with commercial and functional teams to facilitate business expansion
- Provide risk visibility for the Central Execution Desk (CED), including aggregation of trading activity across business units and ensuring flat CED accounts
- Reconcile executed trades with booked positions in Allegro to minimize operational risk
- Identify, analyze and proactively drive improvements to existing processes
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or Computer Science
- 5 - 7 years of relevant experience in commodity trading (Front, Middle, or Back Office)
- Strong knowledge of commodity risk management, including derivatives, physical refined product markets, carbon and environmental products, and risk metrics such as VAR, Stop Loss, and Stress Testing
- Familiarity with ETRM systems such as Allegro, Endur, RightAngle, etc
- Excel, VBA, Power BI, SQL, Python proficiency is an asset
- Familiarity with industry best practices in risk governance processes and procedures
- Knowledge of derivatives and financial instruments such as options, futures, and swaps
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams
- Proven business acumen, attention to detail and a strong commitment to ensuring deadlines are maintained and achieved
