SurgeryNurse
The Registered Nurse performs direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act.
Utilizes therapeutic communication in daily practice.Maintains a safe therapeutic environment.Identifiesnursing problems as they relate to the individual needs of the patient. Registered Nurse plans individualized patient care whileutilizingan interdisciplinary approach.Participates in performance improvement activities.Provides care and coordinates participation that fosters the goals of the hospitals mission and vision statement.
What you will do in this role :
Exhibits competency with skin prep of the surgical patient.
Demonstrates ability to start andmaintainIV,initiateand monitor intravenous infusions of medications and / or blood products.
Recognize anddemonstratetreatment for IV complications.
Ability to collect specimens according to hospital policy following physician orders.
Competently performs EKGs.
Properly administers medicationin accordance withphysician order and hospital policy.
What qualifications you will need :
Education : Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing
Licensure / Certification : Current TN RN or Compact State License in state of residence; American Heart
Association BLS (within90 daysof hire);ACLS and PALS (within 6 months of hire)required.
Experience : One-year med / surgexperiencerequired; one-year ambulatory experience preferred
Parkridge East Hospital is a 120 bed facility in East Ridge. We provide a full range of medical and surgical services. These services include orthopedics and robotic surgery. We have a 24 / 7 Emergency Department. This ED is recognized by the Society of Chest Pain Centers as an Accredited Chest Pain Center. The facility also offers obstetrical care and complex gynecological procedures. We also hold a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Specialized providers in the NICU include neonatologists, neonatal nurses and respiratory therapists. These staff are on site at all times. Visit us for excellent general and OB care!
