Unit Specifics : Number of Beds : 29, Patient Ratios : 4 : 1, Unit staffing description : Dayshift unit secretary and 2-3 PCTs depending on census. Nightshift has 2-3 PCTs depending on census.

Type of equipment : Welch Allyn dynamaps, Phillips telemetry, Phillips MP2, Pyxis, Alaris pumps, Hill-Rom beds, iMobile devices, MobiLab

Documentation system : Meditech

Patient Experience requirements : Heavy cardiac patient population, Q6H head-to-toe assessments.

Job Requirements

Cardiac / telemetry experience

PCU and / or critical care experience

Advanced skills needed : IV insertion, chest tube management, DHT insertion / management, tracheostomy experience, CVC management, EKG, Foley management, early patient mobility

Procedures performed on unit : Foley placement, IV insertion, wound vac management, DKA management, EKGs, DHT / NG placement, patient ambulation, ADLs

Schedule Information

3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule

Self-scheduling (within reason to allow balanced staffing)

Schedule will be finalized 2 weeks in advance

Can accommodate block scheduling for night shift

Floating policy : Travel RNs float first

Unit Specific Information

Unit Guidelines / Policies : Will be provided

Dress Code : Navy scrubs
