Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in providing excellent patient care by performing various technical and supportive duties under the supervision of an optometrist.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Conduct preliminary testing on patients, including measuring visual acuity, Visual Field Testing, OCT, Profilometry and retinal imaging.
- Assist with patient intake and medical history documentation.
- Prepare examination rooms and equipment for patient examinations.
- Instruct patients on contact lens insertion, removal, and care.
- Maintain accurate patient records in electronic health record systems like Epic.
- Handle front desk duties including scheduling appointments and verifying insurance information.
Skills:
- Knowledge of optometric procedures, including taking vital signs and utilizing aseptic techniques.
- Understanding of human physiology related to eye health.
- Experience with optical equipment and procedures.
