We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to manage the financial transactions of Parks Drilling Company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, processing payroll, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in accounting software.
Key Responsibilities:
- Record day-to-day financial transactions and ensure accuracy in the general ledger
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements
- Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections
- Prepare and process payroll, including tax withholdings and benefits administration
- Assist in preparing tax filings and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations as well as commercial activity tax, sales/use tax, and BWC true-up.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records and documentation
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes
- Collaborate with accountants, auditors, and other financial professionals as needed
- Identify discrepancies and resolve financial record issues
- Union fringe benefit reporting, processing, and audits
- Assist with employee onboarding
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred)
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Proficiency in accounting software (ComputerEase)
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial tools
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with basic HR functions a plus
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Construction Accounting
- Knowledge of tax regulations and financial compliance requirements
- Previous experience working with external auditors
