Position Summary
Perform a variety of maintenance functions in the upkeep of assigned golf course and related facilities; maintain fairways, greens, tees and roughs; and perform a variety of tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility.

Minimum Education, Experience And Additional Requirements
Education directly related to the minimum requirements below may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
High school diploma or GED; and
One (1) year of golf course maintenance or park maintenance experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License, or the ability to obtain by date of hire.
Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire.
Preferred Knowledge
- Methods and techniques of golf course maintenance
- Principles and practices of gardening, tree planting and watering
- Equipment and tools used to maintain the golf course
- Chemicals and fertilizers applied during upkeep of golf course
- Occupational hazards and standard safety practices
Preferred Skills & Abilities
- Perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance work on the golf course
- Operate a variety of vehicular and stationary mechanical equipment in a safe and effective manner
- Perform heavy manual labor
- Work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Communicate clearly and concisely
- Perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
